ISSUES WITH SEO – Search Engine Optimization

SEO is a very important aspect of blogging. It is arguably the most important. Search engine optimization is way of increasing and bringing organic traffic to your website, it also helps to improve your search engine rankings and improve online visibility.

There are some plugins that can be used to enable SEO on your blog or website, some of them are
1. Yoast SEO
2. All in one SEO pack
3. Google XML sitemaps
4. Google Analytics by monsterInsights
5. All in one WP security and Firewall

There are loads of them but I am going to talk about one, which the yoast SEO. It is arguably the number 1 SEO plugin and it’s quite easy to use.

Click here to learn more about the installation and documentation of yoast SEO plugin.

After installing the yoast SEO plugin and using it for a while you could encounter some problems such as the metabox not showing or not been able to add keywords. The page does not show any analysis which usually shows before. Readability and focus keyword analysis. The options are there however it keeps on buffering and shows nothing. You don’t need to be afraid, this could be as a result of plugin conflict or upgrading the yoast SEO.

SEO

There are ways to solve this problem. It could be done manually or through the use of plugins.

It can be done manually by deactivating all the plugins and then switching to a default theme. Once you’ve done that check if the problem still persists.
You can also confirm if you have the right user permissions?
You can check by going to Users->Your Name->Yoast SEOsettings (may need to scroll down) and confirm that both “disable SEO” and “disable readability” are unclicked?
You can confirm if the Keyword, Readability, and MetaBox insights are all enabled by going to SEO->Dashboard- >Features and checking that Readability, Keyword, MetaBox Insights are both enabled?
You can confirm if the SEO and Readability are enabled on the posts You can check by going to SEO->Titles and Metas- >Post Type and seeing that the Yoast SEO Metabox says “show”?

If the problem persists despite using the manual method, you can use the plugin method
There are two plugins to help out with this, they are:
1. Health check and troubleshooting plugin
2. Rollback plugin

The health check and troubleshooting plugin helps to check for plugin conflict and also downgrade your wordpress version to previous version. But you must backup your files to prevent loss of files.

The rollback plugin which is a simpler and easier plugin to use is used to downgrade plugins to previous versions. After installing and activating the plugin, go to the yoast SEO plugin and click on “rollback”. Then select the previous version you want.

The rollback plugin actually worked for me. I hope one these methods also works for you if you have the same issue!
